How do Special Tickets work?

Season Ticket
The purchase of a Season Ticket grants the purchaser attendance of up to 30 performances. Individual tickets for screenings must be reserved (at no additional cost) at ticket booths, with presentation of the season ticket. These individual tickets allow entry to each screening. A maximum of 5 tickets can be purchased for each day. Tickets for simultaneous screenings cannot be purchased. Although sharing of the season ticket is permitted, only one ticket can be issued for each event. Availability of tickets is not guaranteed – for example, the event may already be sold out. Changing of individual tickets is possible until the event begins. Reimbursement is not available for individual tickets.

Season Ticket (reduced)
Please see the guidelines for the Season Ticket described above. A valid proof of concession must be presented when purchasing individual tickets, as well as entering each screening.

Student Pass
Please see the guidelines for the Season Ticket described above. A valid Student ID must be presented when purchasing individual tickets, as well as when entering each screening.

Day Tickets
The purchase of a Daily Ticket allows entry to up to 5 screenings. Tickets for each individual show must be reserved at ticket booths (free of additional charge). These individual tickets are required to attend the screenings. A maximum of 5 tickets may be purchased for each day.  Tickets for simultaneous screenings cannot be purchased. Availability of tickets is not guaranteed – for example, the event may already be sold out. Changing of individual tickets is possible until the event begins. Reimbursement is not available for individual tickets.

Special Four Ticket
The Special Four Ticket is an offer which entitles the ticket-holder to reserve up to four tickets free of additional charge. Those individual tickets are required to attend the screenings. Tickets for simultaneous screenings can be purchased with this ticket, as can multiple tickets for the same screening. Availability of tickets is not guaranteed – for example, the event may already be sold out. Changing of individual tickets is possible until the event begins. Reimbursement is not available for individual tickets.

Award Pass
The Award Pass gives access to all three DOK Leipzig prize draws on Sunday, November 5. With the purchase of the Prizewinner Pass, three tickets are automatically created, which are free of additional charge. These individual tickets make it possible to enter the event. Reimbursement is not available for individual tickets.

Are ticket reservations available?

Yes. From the 27/10, ticket reservations are available at all DOK Ticket Offices (please check opening hours). Reservations expire 30 min before the screening starts.

Please note: reservations by telephone will not be possible.

When does a ticket expire?

Seats in any performance can only be guaranteed, if they have been taken shortly before the commencement of the event. DOK Leipzig reserves the right to re-assign seats that are vacant at the beginning of the performance via the “Last Minute Sale”. Complimentary and discounted tickets are only valid with proof of ID.

Last Minute Sale

Even if a screening is officially sold out, you have a very last chance to see the film anyway.

If unused tickets are returned to us on short notice and hence the cinema hall is not fully occupied, we allocate the free seats anew.

These "Last Minute" tickets are available only at those DOK Ticket Offices corresponding to the screening hall.

We really try to get as many people as possible into the screening with this method, but please understand that it is not always possible to get everyone in. Also it might take some time to get everyone in. First-come, first-served.

If seats become vacant at the beginning of the screening (through tickets being returned, or through tickets expiring due to lateness), these seats will become available again just prior to the start of the screening.

These “Last Minute Sale” tickets are only available at the box office of the cinema which is screening the film. The method of purchasing these tickets is different for each cinema:

CineStar
Tickets can be acquired through a separate queue, which will be created at the ticket offices in the entrance area of the cinema. Tickets are distributed on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Passage Kinos
Please gather in front of the respective cinema. You will be informed by an employee and taken to the box office, should extra seats become available. This is on account of there being insufficient space to accommodate guests waiting at the box office area.

Cinémathèque Leipzig
Please wait at the box office/entry area, which are the same space.

Schaubühne Lindenfels
Please wait at the box office/entry area, which are the same space.

Any discounts, special passes and accreditations are, of course, valid.
We ask for your understanding in the event of Last Minute tickets being unavailable, or if additional wait time Is required.

What do I need to consider before purchasing an Online Ticket?

After purchasing your ticket, you will be sent a “PDF Ticket” via email, for which you will need an updated PDF Reader.

Entry to the cinema will only be granted upon presentation of a valid printed "PDF Ticket" for the corresponding screening.

How many tickets can I purchase online?

A maximum of 5 tickets per screening can be purchased online. This limit ensures that enough tickets are available to everyone.

I can't buy a ticket online.

If the "Buy" button for a favourited screening is greyed out or not there at all, online Ticket-Sale isn't possible (any longer).

The screening is sold out, any possible remaining tickets are available only at the DOK Ticket Offices. This is to ensure that people without access to the Internet also have the chance to get a ticket.

Please also refer to "Last Minute Sale" for further options.

Why can’t I reserve a specific seat when I buy a ticket?

For all film screenings seating is on a non-allocated basis.

What should I consider regarding accreditation?

Accredited members must collect their complimentary tickets at the relevant cinema’s box office. Accreditation must be presented during collection. It is possible to collect tickets for the present and following day’s screenings. A maximum of 5 tickets per day may be collected. It is not possible to receive complimentary tickets for simultaneous screenings in different locations. Accredited members cannot acquire tickets online.

Entry to the cinema will only be granted for accredited members upon presentation of a valid ticket for the corresponding screening, together with a valid accreditation. Seats can only be guaranteed shortly before a screening begins. A ticket expires after the screening has commenced. DOK Leipzig reserves the right to reassign unoccupied places upon the commencement of a screening via a Last Minute Sale.

Not yet accredited?
If you are a member of the industry and would like to be accredited, you can find all of the relevant information regarding accreditation fees on our website.
