CATALOGUE TEXT
A programme about those Third Ways, both in the history of communism and in film history, taken with naked rage and burning concern. And an excursion to examples of a Third Cinema inseparably linked to the complex of independence movements in the so-called Third World. These are works dedicated to the political works of Uncle Ho (aka Hồ Chí Minh), Thomas Sankara (also referred to as Africa’s Che), Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz (aka Fidel Castro) and Ernesto Rafael Guevara de la Serna (aka Che).

These films contain the knowledge that politics (especially the anti-imperialist kind) is articulated not just by individual or collective action but, most importantly, by the affective performance of outsiders. One might also say: films that spell the term “globalisation” differently – avant et contre la lettre. Globalisation as cosmopolitism, in which people are subjects, even agents, not objects subjected to anonymous processes. Films whose idiom is the sharp sword. Unreconciled! Undogmatic, politically as well as cinematographically!
